With hair trends like the
modern pompadour and undercut packing a punch with the discerning
gentleman, it’s time to hone your hairstyling skills. The regular
quick-towel-dry-and-ready-to-roll approach won’t cut it anymore. The
quiff focuses on a more refined look channelling the modern urban
gentleman and rightly so, as it’s the daddy of all male hairstyles. It’s
time to take matters into your own hands as we tell you how to get a
male quiff.
Get The Look
Pretty
much anyone can carry off a quiff with the right products and tools,
though if you have extremely curly hair or frizzy hair, this style is
best avoided. The secret to a great quiff lies in a good cut, the right
styling products and a good hairdryer.
Start by washing your hair thoroughly to remove the sebum, then towel-dry your hair until it’s slightly damp. Apply a texture-holding paste and then comb it through the hair to get even coverage. Make sure that when you comb your hair, it’s towards the top of your head.
Set your dryer to the highest temperature, and using a vented brush, sweep the top part of your hair across to one side. At the same time, follow the brush and direct the airflow in the brush and onto the hair with your dryer. When your hair is half dry, repeat the method on the other side, working in the opposite direction. When you hair is completely dry, use the dryer and brush in the same way except this time brush the hair upwards and back away from your face and sides.

When
you've finished drying your hair, all you need to do is define your
look with a finishing product. Use a putty, clay or wax - apply by
dispensing a little product into the palms of your hands and start by
running your palms over your hair - mainly on the top of your head. At
the same time, run your fingers through your hair from side-to-side
similar to how you dried your hair. Finish off by sweeping your hair
away from your face with your fingers or a vented brush to create the
quiff.
