High street heroes H&M
aren’t ones to shy away from a good collaboration. In fact, in the last
few years the Swedish brand has joined forces with everyone from Alexander Wang to Beyoncé, Isabel Marant and David Beckham. This year, H&M adds Kenzo to their repertoire with a highly anticipated forthcoming collection.
The collaboration will see Kenzo‘s
bright and bold Parisian designs replicated into approachable and
affordable pieces for H&M. “We wanted to really tell the story of
the brand and of us. Together with H&M, we will invite all the
customers and fans to the real Kenzo world,” Creative Director Humberto
Leon said.
“We like to make sure each piece [in the collection] has its own
value and feels special, but at the same time that the collection as a
whole feels really united. That means people should be as excited to own
a t-shirt as they are to own a dress. Each piece should feel
deliberate,” he added.
What we’ve seen of the campaign so far shows models Amy Sall, Juliana
Huxtable, Isamaya Ffrench and Oko Embombo in a range of pop colour
zebra print pieces. The menswear look features a combination of blue,
pastel pink and mint green quirky animal print items combined with a
utilitarian-style khaki jacket, printed slides and some Kanye-esque
reflective sunglasses. Not for the faint hearted.
Stay tuned for more from the H&M x Kenzo collaboration, set to drop on November 3.
