This weekend is All-Star Weekend, which, for those more interested in the sartorial world than the sporting one, might not mean much. But it's important to recognize this fact if for no other reason than sneaker companies love to release special sneakers for the game, and Jordan is going all out. We discussed at length why these Jordans are so special, but right now all you have to know is that they're super dope.

In addition to that, pack we see a wide range of other aesthetics: retro runners from Nike, exceptionally well-made but affordable office kicks from Greats, and a couple collaborations with Adidas that offer fresh takes on popular silhouettes. No matter how you're looking to expand your sneaker collection, there's something in this week's mix for you.
GREATS ROYALE "GUM PACK"
Greats' most sophisticated silhouette, the Royale, has been updated for the season in a series of four nubuck colorways. But what makes this release even more exciting is the presence of gum soles. Gum is a perennial favorite for sneaker soles because of its history but also the grip—it's the perfect material for street sports, especially skating. With Italian manufacturing that's as at home in the office than in the street, the Gum Pack is a winner for any taste.

AIR JORDAN 31 "GOTTA SHINE"
The All-Star Weekend festivities start early this week with the launch of an iridescent Jordan 31. The chameleonic, color-shifting leather wraps around the heel, and blends into the same color-changing finish on the midsole. The rest of the upper is comprised of Flyweave with a hexagonal pattern and purple and blue swoosh. The outsole is a cool translucent white.

AIR JORDAN 6 "GOTTA SHINE"
The Jordan VI is the most intense of the All-Star Weekend collection, utilizing color-changing leather over the entire upper. The volume of that choice is tempered with a black tongue, laces, and midsole, and a translucent outsole that adds a little bit of lightness to otherwise otherworldly look. The all-over look makes this pair feel much younger than the others, but they're still a lot of fun.

CONVERSE CHUCK MODERN LUX
For decades since its introduction at the beginning of the 20th Century, the Chuck Taylor All Star was favorite for just about everyone—including Michael Jordan, who wanted to sign with Converse instead of Nike so that he could wear Chucks on court. (Nike eventually sweetened the deal. A lot.) The only drawback of the Chuck is that it is almost too casual— but this weekend Converse is taking the style to a whole new level. The Chuck Modern Lux takes the normally canvas silhouette and covers it entirely in fine grain leather, adding a tonal sole and laces for a solid, understated look.

AIR JORDAN 1 "GOTTA SHINE"
The star of the All-Star Weekend collection from Jordan Brand this year is the Jordan 1. The classic color-blocking that was first seen on the Black Toe and repeated in the Fragment pairs has become a habitual move for Jordan, and the brand uses that same blocking in these pairs. The chameleon leather that was originally meant to represent the colors of the Charlotte Hornets appears on the vamp and wrapping around the heel, making for a shoe that uses this bold material in a way that's not too aggressive. This is a very well balanced look with the volume turned up just a little.
